Setting up Direct Deposit with the Correct Account Number
It’s common for Roswell Community Federal Credit Union members to link their Credit Union accounts, such as their savings or checking to other financial institutions, their employers, or even the U.S. government, as is the case when receiving tax refunds via Direct Deposit.
If you are providing your account information to another institution or organization for direct deposit, be certain you are using your correct RCFCU account information/number.
Your Member Number is the same as your Savings Account Number
It is important to understand that your RCFCU Savings account number is also your Credit Union Member Number. They are one and the same and are unique to each individual member. Your checking account number will have one extra digit at the end that differentiates it from your savings account—feel free to ask one of our staff members for clarification on the number you need to provide for deposits into your checking account.
How account number errors happen
Sometimes at RCFCU we will manually intervene to ensure that your deposit makes it to the correct account. Please know that your funds could be minimally delayed in the event of these interventions. This usually occurs because of one of two reasons:
Either the member’s checking or savings account number has been provided incorrectly (one or more digits could be incorrect), or
The member has accidentally switched their savings account number for their checking account number (or the opposite)—for direct deposit.
Either of these situations can be easily remedied by contacting the institution or organization that the deposit is coming from. They should be able to correct your account information with little issue, allowing for your direct deposit to deposit into your account automatically.
